Viv Ibiza has been managing luxury villas across the Balearic Islands for over fifteen years, primarily for the high-end holiday rental market. For the launch of the new 2025/2026 advertising campaign, we produced real estate photography and video across four very different properties, located between Eivissa and Santa Eulalia, over a period of seven days: three villas of contemporary architecture and a Mediterranean-style boutique country house.
Precisely to preserve the feel of each property, during preproduction we agreed to use a consistent compositional language across all four shoots, so the final body of images would feel cohesive, yet without forcing luminosity, saturation, brightness or color. We considered it essential to avoid an aesthetic homogenization that would erase the individual character of each villa.
The compositions are mostly frontal and graphic, but the lighting setup differs from villa to villa. At Villa Valeria, defined by marble, dark tones and stone elements, I used flash to bring out textures and maintain a high overall luminosity. At Can Sinatra and Villa Fourteen, both more minimalist and open in their architecture, flash worked mainly as a support to the ambient light.
At the country house, I worked with varied exposures and small fill-flash, scheduling the bulk of the shoot for the hours just before sunset, when the light grows progressively softer, to capture that more relaxed, diffuse atmosphere close to the Mediterranean aesthetic.
Although securing drone flight permits in Ibiza comes with its complications, when working with luxury villas like those marketed by Viv Ibiza, aerial photography becomes essential. It anchors the property within the island's natural setting and clarifies the layout of both the house itself and the surrounding garden landscape. This kind of aerial imagery, both aesthetic and technical, proves particularly valuable in the premium segment of the holiday rental market, answering in advance any questions about plot size or distance to the coast.
The video, produced in collaboration with Libra Producciones, follows the same logic as the stills: clear, direct shots that walk through each villa in an ordered sequence, so the potential guest can grasp the whole space at a glance.
Reality is the sales tool; describing it, the goal.
Technique must not transform the space, but translate it with fidelity.
