A curated selection by Docu Magazine from the larger documentary project Looking Up, this book invites you on a visual journey through the paths of the Himalayas. Through its pages, discover landscapes — and the life within — that inspire quiet reflection and attentive observation.
Docu Magazine is an independent platform dedicated to documentary photography, telling meaningful stories with care.
True to their motto - Print is Not Dead -, they produce high-quality tangible publications like this limited edition of 100 numbered and signed copies of Sagarmatha.
Sagarmatha was born from a collaboration with Docu Magazine, an independent platform dedicated to documentary photography.
The project condenses the narrative of Looking Up — a more extensive body of work — to create a visual journey that connects landscapes, people, and the sociocultural aspects of the Khumbu region in Nepal.
The narrative value lies in the images themselves: an invitation to observe with calm attention, where each photograph encourages the viewer to pause and appreciate the richness of its details and nuances.
The images in Sagarmatha were taken on different trips around the region, starting in 2015.
Various cameras were used, mainly a Nikon D750 with 24-70 and 70-200 lenses, chosen for their versatility in capturing both wide landscapes and details.
Sagarmatha was published at the end of July 2025 by Docu Magazine.
The book consists of 20 pages, with dimensions of 22 × 28 cm.
Two editions have been printed:
Each photograph has its own story. Here you can learn about the places, the people, and the moments behind each image, along with details and contexts that add depth to what you see.
You will also find information about life in Sagarmatha National Park, the Khumbu region, and its traditions, helping you get a better sense of the reality reflected in the images.
