What defines this interior design photography shoot is calm, true to the feeling that runs through MON Interiors' project in this apartment at The Edge residential complex, located on the New Golden Mile in Estepona (Malaga, Costa del Sol).
The color palette, the materials and the lighting scheme of each space are meant to convey serenity and quiet. To photograph them without compromising that peaceful, Mediterranean character, one of the cornerstones of Monika Sosnowska's interiors project, we decided to start shooting a few hours before sunset, when the outdoor light starts to drop in intensity, following the production schedule we'd set in our earlier conversations. We started with the living room and the main areas, then the bedrooms, and finally the lamps and wall lights, which I photographed after dark so that the apartment's own lighting setup would read as one more element of the design.
I used natural light as the base, adding low-intensity fill flash to lift the darkest areas of the frame and balance the mixed light sources. Unlike real estate shoots, where agencies and brands tend to prefer images with high overall brightness even if some of the atmosphere is lost, here the aim is the opposite: to convey how the space feels, on an almost sensory level.
