The Jara restaurant, led by Michelin-starred chef José Carlos García, is the gastronomic core of the Hotel Kimpton Los Monteros, in Marbella, one of the key destinations of the Costa del Sol. The culinary proposal combines high-quality local produce with contemporary technique, offering a signature cuisine designed to integrate seamlessly into the overall hotel experience.
This gastronomic photography project has been developed across different sessions, adapting to the evolution of the menu and the different proposals created by the chef and his team. The goal has always been the same: placing the dish at the center of the visual narrative. Images are built around the plating, using the ambient light of the restaurant as a base and complementing it with flashes and small reflectors to accurately reproduce colors, volumes, and textures without altering the real perception of the dish.
All photographs were taken within the restaurant itself, naturally incorporating architectural and decorative elements that contextualize Jara's cuisine without competing with the gastronomic proposal. The images shown are a selection from a broader body of work, including both dishes and portraits of the chef and scenes of the team in action, generating versatile material for advertising campaigns, editorial use, and hotel communication.
The different sessions were carried out while the restaurant was fully operational, in close coordination with the kitchen, front-of-house, management, and marketing team. Pre-production was key to working quickly and precisely, minimizing the impact on the service and maintaining a workflow compatible with the daily operations of a restaurant of this level.
In addition to the photography, short videos and reels were produced following the same visual approach: lear, structured images that remain coherent with the environment, designed to strengthen the restaurant's communication within the hotel's identity.
