The rural house Amara occupies an ancient historic building in the center of Frigiliana, one of the most charming white villages in the province of Malaga, if not in the entire Andalusia. With the aim of preserving its historical essence, this establishment has been renovated between 2020 and 2022 using local materials and artisans.
The photography work has been aimed at promoting the rural hotel on various online booking portals and tourist agencies. It has been essential to faithfully describe the space so that the future guest could get an accurate idea of their next accommodation, while also respecting the atmosphere of the place. To achieve this, both horizontal-oriented images, fitting perfectly into the gallery designs of these portals, and some vertical photos for use on Amara's website and social media have been composed. Both complement each other and provide context to help recreate the serene and peaceful atmosphere of the place more accurately.
Flashes have supported ambient lighting, serving as fill lights. The biggest challenge has been to find balanced and aesthetic compositions since, like any old building, the spaces tend to be non-linear, which complicates tripod and camera positioning. Nevertheless, moderate wide-angle focal lengths have been used in most images, primarily between 24 and 35mm.
